If you\u2019re already a YouTube creator familiar with the platform, consider launching a podcast channel to drum up additional engagement. The tables have now turned, with YouTube boasting the <a href=\"https:\/\/cumuluspodcastnetwork.com\/cumulus-media-podcast-download-spring-2022\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">most popular podcasting platform<\/a> in the country: 24.2% of listeners say they use YouTube most, ahead of Spotify (23.8%) and Apple Podcasts (16%).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, the number of monthly U.S. podcast listeners is expected to jump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insiderintelligence.com\/insights\/the-podcast-industry-report-statistics\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">6.1%<\/a> year-over-year to reach a total of 125 million people in 2022. With the market set to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/5\/10\/23065056\/podcasting-industry-iab-report-audacy-earnings-patreon-pulitzer\" rel=\"nofollow\">double in size<\/a> by 2024, the future is bright for America\u2019s burgeoning podcasting industry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although radio broadcasting has existed since the early 1900s, and internet radio came on the scene more than 20 years ago, podcasting takes a completely different form than its predecessors. While radio is a one-way street, podcasters can directly engage with their audiences to create interactive communities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It may be more accurate for us to call it a new type of social media. It\u2019s a known fact that the vast majority of subscribers don\u2019t bother to skip ads either\u2014regular listeners sit through at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wired.com\/story\/apple-podcast-analytics-first-month\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">80% of each episode<\/a>, regardless of length.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Podcast content also tends to be more unfiltered, which helps creators foster a stronger connection with their follower base.
