MrBeast is insanely well-placed and also generous enough to offer invaluable advice to those creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of TubeBuddy\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubebuddy.com\/blog\/international-creator-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> International Creator Day<\/a> celebrations, Ricky Ray Butler, CEO of BEN and TubeBuddy, hosted an exclusive interview with MrBeast. It wasn\u2019t until he created and published hundreds of videos that he truly understood what makes one go viral on YouTube.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sooner you get better, the sooner that the views will come. Believe in your content, but work on your craft and aim to improve with every piece of content you publish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"MrBeast Interview | Your YouTube Videos SUCK \ud83d\ude33\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pA16cru9Wcc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-don-t-blame-the-algorithm-for-failure\"><strong>Don\u2019t Blame the Algorithm for Failure<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MrBeast argued that he\u2019s never seen a channel that\u2019s consistently posting great, engaging content, week after week, and attracting solid retention rates fail to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a common complaint from small (and large) creators that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubebuddy.com\/blog\/youtube-algorithm-5-things-to-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube Algorithm<\/a> is somehow to blame for poor click-through rates, views, or subscriber rates, but MrBeast makes an excellent point. YouTube <em>wants<\/em> your channel to grow, and if you really put the work in, it has every chance to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-keep-on-top-of-your-analytics-and-insights\"><strong>Keep on Top of Your Analytics and Insights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Checking the retention rate of your video to see how it performs is something every creator should do if they want to grow. Making an educated choice based on what the analytics tell you is an excellent strategy for audience development and channel growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MrBeast has grown his channels substantially, so his content almost has a life of its own, but he still checks his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubebuddy.com\/blog\/a-b-testing-youtube-ctr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CTR<\/a> and retention rate to confirm he\u2019s done as much as possible. This boils down to two simple &#8211; but also complicated &#8211; metrics. Did viewers click on the video, and did they watch it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-aim-for-a-killer-retention-rate\"><strong>Aim for a Killer Retention Rate<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don\u2019t hook viewers at the very beginning, there\u2019s every chance they\u2019re not going to stick around. You might lose up to 30% of your viewers in the first 30 seconds even with a great intro, so you need to fight as hard as you can to keep those who continue to watch, watching until the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MrBeast is an excellent example of a creator who took time to hone their craft.
