Donations made to this fund will be evenly distributed to these three reputable organizations supporting mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being and it\u2019s just as important as our physical health. With one in five adults in the US experiencing some kind of mental illness, it\u2019s more important than ever to raise awareness for those living with mental health issues and fight the stigma around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>As a YouTube creator, you have an in-built opportunity to raise awareness and much-needed funds for causes close to your heart. YouTube allows you to set up a Donate button to invite your viewers to donate to a cause close to your heart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TubeBuddy has partnered with Do Good Points to make it easier and more effective for YouTube creators to use their platform for good. More on that later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding a donation option on YouTube couldn\u2019t be easier. Your channel must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be in a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/6319255#zippy=%2Cwhich-countriesregions-can-set-up-a-youtube-giving-fundraiser\" rel=\"nofollow\">supported geography<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have at least 10k subscribers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a part of the YouTube Partner Program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not be \u2018made for kids\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to join an existing fundraiser on YouTube, you just need to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign in to YouTube Studio<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the left menu, select <strong>Earn<\/strong>, then go to the <strong>Giving<\/strong> tab (top right)&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Get started and then Join a fundraiser<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose from the list of available community fundraisers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add videos or scheduled live streams that will feature the donate button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Publish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/JUnch55IzrMMRLdQmjxpjqsKwbIgfdEGzgWSiMxvkmxmCB9lQUtrH-x6m5Fpd2mbSYel3nm7HCBFk43-WH9RDd71Li-Gthq1KtayW_MrPjgAqf00ya__dI9BTm9ECGwfJ4uKtDaZuXgGJ9-AldnYXIs\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also possible to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/9457362\" rel=\"nofollow\">start your own fundraiser on YouTube<\/a> so don\u2019t feel like you have to wait for someone else!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-if-you-don-t-meet-the-youtube-giving-requirements\"><strong>What if You Don\u2019t Meet the YouTube Giving Requirements?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tubebuddy.com\/blog\/how-to-grow-youtube-channel\/\">smaller channel<\/a> or haven\u2019t met the requirements to join the YouTube Partner Program yet, that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t contribute to a cause close to your heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can make a donation yourself to a creator who you know is accepting donations on a video or live stream. On a video with the donate button included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select Donate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the amount of money you want to donate and then click Continue<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose your payment method (inc, Debit cards, Credit Cards, and PayPal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Donate and then Done<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll get an email receipt after your payment has been processed. The nonprofit and the YouTube creator won\u2019t see your personal info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also donate during a creator\u2019s live stream. When a creator is fundraising on a live stream and has turned on live chat, you\u2019ll see the Donate button in the chat. To donate this way:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select Donate within the live chat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose a donation amount or select Other to enter a different value<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select I want my donation to be public to display your username in the live chat.
